 SPECIFIC PROJECTS

  1. Feedback Planning: This software application was developed under a 3 1/2 year Federally funded program.  The prototype is estimated to be at or near Technical Readiness Level 6 or 7. Primarily designed
as a rapid planning and reconstruction tool for Naval aviation ASW multi-static acoustic search missions.
The prototype is a web based, secure application employing the concept of warfighter reach back from
a tactical cell to any secure multi-processing facility where the application is hosted. The prototype runs computations via parallel processing on IBM cluster
nodes much like the hardware currently operating at
    various DoD computer facilities.

  2. Automated Marine Prediction System (AMPS): This concept automates the production and distribution of numerical atmospheric and oceanographic forecast products. The products are quickly and reliably
delivered to the fleet via secure web services. The
end user is provided the products in secure text and graphical displays via web services to ships preparing
to go to sea or already underway.

  3. Optimized Information, Surveillance, and
     Reconnaissance (ISR) Products:

U.S. Navy supports the development of an optimized
set of aviation ISR support products. Briefly described, current radar propagation products are determined
by the operator selecting an aircraft flight level and
the propagation path is determined based on a single atmospheric sounding. An improved product might recommend the best flight level(s) to fly for the best probability of detection. Or for countermeasures the
best flight level to fly undetected by airborne or
surface radar. An improved environmental component
    is also contemplated.
